Important Note for India (DLT Requirement)

In India, sending transactional or promotional SMS requires DLT registration.

DLT registration must be completed through a telecom operator such as:

  • Airtel
  • Jio
  • BSNL
  • Vodafone Idea

Key points:

  • DLT registration is mandatory under TRAI regulations.
  • The registration typically costs approximately ₹5,000 + 18% GST per year.
  • SMS charges are separate and depend on your SMS provider.
  • Without DLT approval, SMS delivery will fail, even if the gateway is configured correctly.
  • Complete your DLT registration and get approved sender IDs and templates before enabling SMS.
