Whatsapp Settings
WhatsApp settings allow your store to send important notifications to customers through WhatsApp. These messages help provide quick updates and improve customer communication.
Common use cases include:
- OTP verification
- Order confirmation
- Order updates
- Delivery notifications
- Customer alerts
Since WhatsApp has a very high open rate, it is an effective channel for sending order-related notifications and important updates.
If a WhatsApp provider is not configured, your store will not be able to send WhatsApp messages to customers.
WhatsApp Provider Configuration
To send WhatsApp messages, you need to connect a WhatsApp service provider that supports the WhatsApp Business API.
Select any available provider and enter the required credentials provided by that service.
After selecting the provider, the configuration fields specific to that provider will appear.
WhatsApp Settings Fields Explained
- Status
- Provider
- Account SID
- Phone Number
- Access Token
- API Version (if required)
- Region (if required)

Some providers require specifying an API version when making requests.
Example:

Some providers require a region parameter that indicates the server location.
Examples:
US, EU, APAC
Important Notes
Many WhatsApp providers require the following before messages can be sent:
- WhatsApp Business Account approval
- Approved message templates for automated notifications
Without approved templates, automated WhatsApp messages may not be delivered.
Best Practices
- Use a verified WhatsApp Business API number.
- Create and approve message templates for order updates, OTP, and notifications.
- Keep access tokens secure and regenerate them if compromised.
- Always send a test message after completing configuration to confirm everything is working correctly.
